Policy on Artificial Intelligence

Policy of NOArtificial Intelligence in submissions to us, and in publications by us

Salt Desert Media Group believes that there will soon be much more than enough “artificial intelligence” in the world. From the founding of Salt Desert Media, we have devoted our time, energy and money to promoting creative work exclusively from the “natural intelligence” of human writers and artists.

In other words, we aren’t open to works that include Artificial Intelligence-generated material in art or texts, whether whole articlestitles, names, descriptive passages, and so on.

If caught, violators of this policy will find all their contributions to the website deleted, all promotion of their work stopped, and themselves wholly and permanently banned from any association with Salt Desert Media Group,

By way of clarification, we should say that the use of AI prompts is accepted, provided nothing from the phrasing of those prompts survives in the finished text. We should also mention, even though it should surely be unnecessary, that spelling- or grammarcheckers are not included what is meant here by artificial intelligence.

So what do we mean by “artificial intelligence”?  As we operate in the world of language and literature, we mean any human-invented system that mechanically produces human-like text. To be precise, we mean ChatGPT and subsequent AI tools whether coming from that or from any other originating individual, group, or organisation.
